A little goddess, her not-so-ferocious lion, and the return ticket I still hold
Dear seeker of lasting memories,
This Durga Puja is special for me.
Because Niddledy Noddledy is now ten pujas old.
A whole decade has gone by since I first picked up my camera, not as a hobby, not as a job, but as a mother who didn’t want to lose the magic of her baby’s early days.
I still remember that first puja. Arya was just a toddler, dressed up in her little red-and-white, clutching a stuffed lion almost as big as her. After a long day of pandal-hopping, we returned to my ancestral home, where she found a quiet spot on the terrace with her lion in tow.
I saw the way she hugged her furry buddy, and instinctively, I clicked.
And that simple moment became more than just a photograph. It became my anchor.
Even after all these years, a single glance at it takes me back … to the laughter, the faces I love (including some I’ve lost), the warmth of family, the joy of celebration.
That is why I started Niddledy Noddledy.
To create what I call return tickets.
Tickets back to the giggles, the cuddles, the little red smudges of colour on soft cheeks.
Because memories fade faster than we expect, but a photograph holds the light.
And without it, all those tiny moments risk being lost in the blur of time.
Durga Puja itself is about the triumph of light over darkness.
And I believe photographs do the same … keeping the light alive, long after the moment has passed.
Because without these return tickets, our memories fade into darkness.
Our minds are fragile. Moments slip away … the laughter, the little details, the faces we love, can vanish into the blur. But each photograph becomes a tiny lamp against that forgetting … a way to hold on, to go back, to keep joy within reach.
So as I step into another decade of this journey, my wish is simple: may we keep making these return tickets together. For our children, for ourselves, for the joy of looking back and finding the laughter waiting for us.
And years from now, when our babies are grown and chasing their own adventures, these return tickets will still bring them back to us as the little ones they once were.
With festive love, and a little lion’s hug,
Suchanda

Hi, I’m Suchanda, the ♥️ behind Niddledy Noddledy 📸
… not my everyday look — but on puja days, the red-and-white sari has a way of wrapping me in nostalgia.
As a mother myself, I understand how quickly the precious moments of life slip by—from the quiet anticipation of maternity to the joyful chaos of childhood. For many years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing families, capturing the giggles, the mischief, and those tender moments that make your journey so special.
My sessions are designed to create a relaxed, joyful environment where expectant mothers, little ones, and even the not-so-little ones feel free to laugh, play, and just be themselves. Whether it’s the serene glow of motherhood, a cheeky toddler grin, or the way your baby holds your hand, I’m here to preserve the details you’ll treasure forever.
If that sounds like what you’re looking for, let’s talk. Together, we can create memories that last a lifetime.
