Or, how a nanosecond became forever
Dear Keeper of Split-Second Wonders,
It was years ago, when my daughter Arya was still small enough to fit in the crook of one arm.
We had travelled far, to the land of castles and stories (yes, the land of Game of Thrones).
Breakfast had just ended. We were standing outside, chatting with new friends. One of them happened to be the official photographer of the event. Nothing formal. No lights, no poses. Just sunshine, laughter, and little Arya wriggling in my arms.
And then, in a blink, it happened.
Arya turned. Reached out. Grabbed her fatherβs nose.
In the same instant, the photographerβs hand lifted. Eye sharp. Finger ready.
Click.
That was it. A nanosecond. A heartbeat, really.
And yetβit became one of my favourite photos of all time.

Because it wasnβt posed. It wasnβt planned.
It was pure life. Playful. Emotional. Real.
Without that click, the moment wouldβve been lost forever, as so many are.
But thanks to her, itβs now an anchor to that morning, that year, that season of our lives.
When I returned home to Kolkata, I searched for someone who could do this again β who could sense a babyβs moods, move with them, and catch those fleeting seconds that vanish almost as soon as they appear.
I couldnβt find anyone.
So I became that someone.
Thatβs how Niddledy Noddledy began.
Born from a longing to hold on to the fleeting.
From a belief that photography, at its truest, is split-second memory-keeping.
Because babies live in bursts and blinks β and if we donβt move with them, we miss it.
I call it nanosecond photography.
So much of babyhood happens in less than a blink: a hand stretching, a giggle breaking loose, a sleepy sigh melting against your shoulder. If they arenβt noticed and saved, they dissolve into memory and are lost.
But if you catch them, they become anchors. They let you return, years later, to the sound, the feeling, the exact heartbeat of that moment.
This is why I do what I do.
For the laughter that comes back when you see the photo again.
For the tiny gestures that one day become the things you miss the most.
For the memories that can last a lifetime β¦ and, if weβre lucky, even beyond.
With love, laughter & one perfectly pinched nose,
Suchanda

Hi, Iβm Suchanda, the β₯οΈ behind Niddledy Noddledy πΈ
ββ¦ once in a while, the stars align and everyone faces the camera at the same time.
As a mother myself, I understand how quickly the precious moments of life slip byβfrom the quiet anticipation of maternity to the joyful chaos of childhood. For many years, Iβve had the privilege of photographing families, capturing the giggles, the mischief, and those tender moments that make your journey so special.
My sessions are designed to create a relaxed, joyful environment where expectant mothers, little ones, and even the not-so-little ones feel free to laugh, play, and just be themselves. Whether itβs the serene glow of motherhood, a cheeky toddler grin, or the way your baby holds your hand, Iβm here to preserve the details youβll treasure forever.
If that sounds like what youβre looking for, letβs talk. Together, we can create memories that last a lifetime.
