Newborn photography : FAQs

Dreamy, cosy portraits of your baby’s earliest days âœšđŸŒ

Those first few weeks with a newborn?
They pass in a blink.

Soft sighs. Tiny toes. Milk-drunk naps.
You think you’ll remember it all.

But in the haze of feeds and half-sleeps, details fade.
That’s where newborn photos come in.

I help you press pause on the rush of new-parent life—to gently, lovingly capture what it feels like to hold your baby close in those early, tender days.

No stiff poses. No overdone props.
Just honest, dreamy portraits that feel like your baby.

So you can remember—always—how small they once were.

When’s the best time for newborn photos? â°đŸ‘¶

Ideally, within the first 2 weeks after birth.
That’s when babies are typically sleepiest and easiest to curl into soft, womb-like poses.

But real life isn’t always textbook.
If those early weeks flew by, don’t worry.

I regularly photograph babies up to 3 months old.
They may be more awake, more expressive—but just as precious.

Whether your baby is 9 days or 9 weeks, there’s still magic to be captured.

What sessions feel like đŸ’€đŸ§ž

You’ll arrive at my cosy studio in Newtown, Kolkata.
It’s calm, quiet, baby-safe, and made for naps, cuddles, and coos.

Your baby leads the way.
If they want to sleep, they’ll sleep.
If they need time to feed or stretch, we pause.

No ticking clock. No pressure.
Just soft wraps, natural light, and stillness made possible for a few peaceful hours.

Who can be part of it? đŸ’•

You.
Your partner.
Siblings, if there are any.

Even grandparents or visiting family are welcome.
Because those early days aren’t just about the baby—they’re about the whole family beginning again.

Parents, siblings—they’re all part of the story.
Come as you are, and let the moments unfold.

These are the moments you’ll want to remember.

What to expect (and what to bring) đŸŽ’đŸ§ŠđŸ§Ž

Each newborn session typically lasts 3 to 4 hours, with time built in for feeding, changing, and cuddling.

There’s no rush.
Your baby sets the pace.

I provide everything—wraps, outfits, soft props—so you don’t have to pack the nursery.
Before your session, I’ll guide you on what to bring (usually just an extra feed, a burp cloth, and a pacifier if your baby uses one).

We’ll connect beforehand—over a call or WhatsApp—so you know exactly what to expect.

It’s just me. And your baby. đŸ€đŸ“·

I work solo—no assistants, no crew.
Just a calm, private space where your baby feels secure and snug.

Each pose is done with care, slowly and safely, following your baby’s natural rhythm.
I bring both years of hands-on experience and a mother’s instinct to every moment.

Your little one is in gentle, capable hands.

A few things you might be wondering đŸ€”

How long does a newborn session take?

Sessions usually run between 2 to 4 hours.
I leave plenty of time for breaks, feeding, and soothing—always following your baby’s cues.

What if my baby cries or doesn’t sleep?

That’s perfectly okay.
Every baby is different, and I adapt the flow of the session to suit their mood.
There’s never any pressure—we pause, we soothe, we go with the rhythm of the day.

Is it too late for a shoot if my baby is already 6 or 8 weeks old?

Not at all.
While the first 2 weeks are ideal for those sleepy, curled-up poses, I often photograph babies up to 3 months old.
These sessions feel a bit more awake and expressive—but just as meaningful.

Do you have any reviews or parent feedback?

Yes, I do—and some of them might bring a tear to your eye.
You can read those here →

When should we book?

The sooner, the better—especially if you want to catch the first 2-week window.
Many parents book during pregnancy, but I also welcome last-minute sessions when my schedule allows.
Just reach out and ask.

Do you travel for newborn sessions?

All newborn shoots take place in my studio in Newtown, Kolkata.
That’s where I can control the light, warmth, and setting to keep your baby comfortable and safe throughout.

It’s also where I have access to my full collection of wraps, props, and large studio backdrops
—most of which are too big and bulky to travel with.

Bringing the session here means your baby gets the best of everything, without compromise.
